Narrative:

Missed turn. While operating as PIC and PF, I misread the approach plate for the finks 6 arrival. I failed to turn at doccs to track into ldn. Controller asked if we were tracking direct to aml and I recognized my error. Controller gave us a heading to intercept the arrival north of aml. We turned about 10 mi past the turn point. No good excuse. I just failed to look close enough at the arrival plate.

Title: MD80 CREW DID NOT MAKE A TURN AS DEPICTED ON THE STAR.

Narrative: MISSED TURN. WHILE OPERATING AS PIC AND PF, I MISREAD THE APCH PLATE FOR THE FINKS 6 ARR. I FAILED TO TURN AT DOCCS TO TRACK INTO LDN. CTLR ASKED IF WE WERE TRACKING DIRECT TO AML AND I RECOGNIZED MY ERROR. CTLR GAVE US A HDG TO INTERCEPT THE ARR N OF AML. WE TURNED ABOUT 10 MI PAST THE TURN POINT. NO GOOD EXCUSE. I JUST FAILED TO LOOK CLOSE ENOUGH AT THE ARR PLATE.
