Ground event. Taxied past hold line with clearance to hold short the line was obscured by preceding aircraft holding short. Taxiway M shares a hold line with runway 12/9L. I taxied past looking for a runway 9L hold short. Did not go on active runway or cause incursion/traffic problem. Hold short line is parallel to runway and poorly marked.
