Narrative:

I landed on runway 6L at lax. Taxi instructions were 'west on taxiway east, left turn on taxiway south to taxiway B, hold at taxiway G.' taxiing on taxiway east, I asked first officer if the approaching taxiway was taxiway south, he said 'yes.' I turned on that taxiway and only realized I was on taxiway Q when we reached the end. There was only 1 controller on tower and ground and the taxi chart is very hard to read at night. The letters 'Q' and 'south' are very small.
