Narrative:

Departing phl it was a clear VFR night. I was cleared to taxi to runway 27L and hold short of runway 27R. I turned from taxiway G to make a right on taxiway east. After I was on taxiway east, I looked at a direction sign that appeared to indicate taxiway east made a left turn. I ended up crossing runway 35 and saw the sign for runway 27R. This is when ground informed me I had crossed an active runway. I feel that asking for progressive taxi instructions might have alleviated this conflict. I also feel that people, including myself, should be more vigilant and be sure to stop at all runways and verify clrncs to cross.
