Narrative:

On taxi out in bos, ground control gave us instructions to taxi to runway 9 via taxiway west, taxiway K, taxiway south and hold short of runway 4L. When cleared to cross runway 4L, the captain failed to make the turn onto taxiway south and continued on taxiway west and held short of runway 9. There were no conflicts and when ready for takeoff, we were told to back taxi on runway 9 for departure. Contributing factor I feel was darkness with short taxi after crossing runway 4L.

Narrative: ON TAXI OUT IN BOS, GND CTL GAVE US INSTRUCTIONS TO TAXI TO RWY 9 VIA TXWY W, TXWY K, TXWY S AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 4L.
