Narrative:

I was told to contact the tower at the marker. After crossing the marker, I forgot to contact the tower and landed without a clearance. After talking with other pilots, numerous others had done the same thing. This could be eliminated if approach would instruct you to contact the tower now instead of after crossing a certain point or DME.

Title: APCH CTL ADVISED FLT TO CONTACT TWR AT THE MARKER. CREW FORGOT AND LANDED WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: I WAS TOLD TO CONTACT THE TWR AT THE MARKER. AFTER XING THE MARKER, I FORGOT TO CONTACT THE TWR AND LANDED WITHOUT A CLRNC. AFTER TALKING WITH OTHER PLTS, NUMEROUS OTHERS HAD DONE THE SAME THING. THIS COULD BE ELIMINATED IF APCH WOULD INSTRUCT YOU TO CONTACT THE TWR NOW INSTEAD OF AFTER XING A CERTAIN POINT OR DME.
