Narrative:

I took off from cof en route to our local training area, approximately 15 NM southwest of mlb, to conduct a maintenance test flight. I had filed a VFR flight plan to 4500 ft MSL as my initial altitude. Proceeding west from cof, I climbed to 8500 ft MSL to be clear of cumulus in the area. I was late in turning south to the training area. When patrick tower released me 6 NM west of the airport, I tried to contact orl approach. They were busy and by the time they gave me a squawk code and idented, I had entered their airspace. I told them my intentions and they directed me to the southeast out of their airspace and told me to contact ZMA for advisory service. I contacted ZMA and remained with them for the rest of the flight. They called traffic for me while I was in the training area and handed me off to patrick approach for my return to base. After the flight, I visited with base operations personnel and arranged to conduct future maintenance flts east of cof to minimize interference with transient air traffic in the area. And also to minimize distraction for myself while trying to carry out tasks and maneuvers required on this type of flight.

Narrative: I TOOK OFF FROM COF ENRTE TO OUR LCL TRAINING AREA, APPROX 15 NM SW OF MLB, TO CONDUCT A MAINT TEST FLT. I HAD FILED A VFR FLT PLAN TO 4500 FT MSL AS MY INITIAL ALT. PROCEEDING W FROM COF, I CLBED TO 8500 FT MSL TO BE CLR OF CUMULUS IN THE AREA. I WAS LATE IN TURNING S TO THE TRAINING AREA. WHEN PATRICK TWR RELEASED ME 6 NM W OF THE ARPT, I TRIED TO CONTACT ORL APCH. THEY WERE BUSY AND BY THE TIME THEY GAVE ME A SQUAWK CODE AND IDENTED, I HAD ENTERED THEIR AIRSPACE. I TOLD THEM MY INTENTIONS AND THEY DIRECTED ME TO THE SE OUT OF THEIR AIRSPACE AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT ZMA FOR ADVISORY SVC. I CONTACTED ZMA AND REMAINED WITH THEM FOR THE REST OF THE FLT. THEY CALLED TFC FOR ME WHILE I WAS IN THE TRAINING AREA AND HANDED ME OFF TO PATRICK APCH FOR MY RETURN TO BASE. AFTER THE FLT, I VISITED WITH BASE OPS PERSONNEL AND ARRANGED TO CONDUCT FUTURE MAINT FLTS E OF COF TO MINIMIZE INTERFERENCE WITH TRANSIENT AIR TFC IN THE AREA. AND ALSO TO MINIMIZE DISTR FOR MYSELF WHILE TRYING TO CARRY OUT TASKS AND MANEUVERS REQUIRED ON THIS TYPE OF FLT.
