Narrative:
Captain kept disregarding assigned speed. He felt that we were too high to make a proper descent and landing at assigned speeds, so he slowed way down. Some airports want you to get permission to slow down, others don't care. A little consistency would be nice.

Title: CAPT OF A B757 FAILED TO MAINTAIN AIRSPD ASSIGNED BY ATC DURING DSCNT AND APCH. NO COMMENT MADE BY ATC REGARDING SLOWER THAN INSTRUCTED SPD.
Narrative: CAPT KEPT DISREGARDING ASSIGNED SPD. HE FELT THAT WE WERE TOO HIGH TO MAKE A PROPER DSCNT AND LNDG AT ASSIGNED SPDS, SO HE SLOWED WAY DOWN. SOME ARPTS WANT YOU TO GET PERMISSION TO SLOW DOWN, OTHERS DON'T CARE. A LITTLE CONSISTENCY WOULD BE NICE.
