Narrative:

While parked at gate X the captain's radar altimeter flag appeared. Pressing the test button and tripping and resetting the circuit breakers did not affect it, so I asked the lead flight attendant to do a passenger electronic device walk.' she came back and said that a passenger in first class seat had been using a pager but had just shut it off. The radar altimeter returned to normal and tested ok. Maintenance did a diagnostic test on the radar altimeter and it checked out ok. This was my 4TH passenger electronic device incident with pagers in 8 months. The loss of the captain's radio altimeter is significant because it also disables the TCASII and GPWS system.

Narrative: WHILE PARKED AT GATE X THE CAPT'S RADAR ALTIMETER FLAG APPEARED. PRESSING THE TEST BUTTON AND TRIPPING AND RESETTING THE CIRCUIT BREAKERS DID NOT AFFECT IT, SO I ASKED THE LEAD FLT ATTENDANT TO DO A PAX ELECTRONIC DEVICE WALK.' SHE CAME BACK AND SAID THAT A PAX IN FIRST CLASS SEAT HAD BEEN USING A PAGER BUT HAD JUST SHUT IT OFF. THE RADAR ALTIMETER RETURNED TO NORMAL AND TESTED OK. MAINT DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON THE RADAR ALTIMETER AND IT CHKED OUT OK. THIS WAS MY 4TH PAX ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCIDENT WITH PAGERS IN 8 MONTHS.
