Narrative:

During meal tray pick up, captain called to coach and asked me and the #1 purser to come to the cockpit immediately. He informed me that there was a fuel gauge indicator reading an unusually high temperature. He informed me that we were returning to jfk and will be landing in 30 mins. He informed me that he thought that it was just a faulty reading, and he did not need us to prepare for an emergency or to evacuate/evacuation on the ground unless I thought it necessary. He informed the passenger via PA and the flight returned to jfk without further incident.
