Narrative:

I called dlg radio announced cherokee aircraft X turning right hand base to runway 19 for full stop. No response. Landing lights on, turn final notice air carrier Y holding on ramp at far end of runway. About touchdown air carrier Y taxies on runway at far end to threshold of runway 1. Pilot calls tower inquiring about cherokee that just landed. I told dlg radio I announced turn to base on runway 19. I assumed air carrier Y saw my approach and touchdown before entering runway. 6400 ft runway is more than adequate for a PA28 cherokee to land and takeoff. Good rational. I didn't hear air carrier Y transmission to back taxi on runway 1 for departure. I am assuming we were walking on each other during our transmission. I contemplated a go around, however, I was touching down and about 4000 ft from air carrier Y entering the active. I felt I had adequate space to slow my plane and turn off the runway, which I did. This was not a close call, but an incident that I will never forget. Next time I call radio at an uncontrolled airport, I'll wait for their acknowledgment before turning to final. Air carrier Y should have held short of runway 19 until I cleared. I was landing so I should have had the runway. My radio was operational since I talked with dlg radio about 5 mins before my call turning to base.

Title: PLT IN PA28 LNDG AT DLG, AN UNCTLED FIELD, ANNOUNCES BASE TURN FOR RWY 19 ON THE RADIO. TURNING FINAL, PLT OBSERVES AN ACR HOLDING ON THE RAMP AT THE OPPOSITE END ON RWY 1. ON TOUCHDOWN, THE PLT OBSERVES THE ACR TAXI ON THE RWY 1 AND HEARS THE ACR PLT ON THE FSS FREQ INQUIRING ABOUT THE CHEROKEE ON THE RWY.

Narrative: I CALLED DLG RADIO ANNOUNCED CHEROKEE ACFT X TURNING R HAND BASE TO RWY 19 FOR FULL STOP. NO RESPONSE. LNDG LIGHTS ON, TURN FINAL NOTICE ACR Y HOLDING ON RAMP AT FAR END OF RWY. ABOUT TOUCHDOWN ACR Y TAXIES ON RWY AT FAR END TO THRESHOLD OF RWY 1. PLT CALLS TWR INQUIRING ABOUT CHEROKEE THAT JUST LANDED. I TOLD DLG RADIO I ANNOUNCED TURN TO BASE ON RWY 19. I ASSUMED ACR Y SAW MY APCH AND TOUCHDOWN BEFORE ENTERING RWY. 6400 FT RWY IS MORE THAN ADEQUATE FOR A PA28 CHEROKEE TO LAND AND TKOF. GOOD RATIONAL. I DIDN'T HEAR ACR Y XMISSION TO BACK TAXI ON RWY 1 FOR DEP. I AM ASSUMING WE WERE WALKING ON EACH OTHER DURING OUR XMISSION. I CONTEMPLATED A GAR, HOWEVER, I WAS TOUCHING DOWN AND ABOUT 4000 FT FROM ACR Y ENTERING THE ACTIVE. I FELT I HAD ADEQUATE SPACE TO SLOW MY PLANE AND TURN OFF THE RWY, WHICH I DID. THIS WAS NOT A CLOSE CALL, BUT AN INCIDENT THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET. NEXT TIME I CALL RADIO AT AN UNCTLED ARPT, I'LL WAIT FOR THEIR ACKNOWLEDGMENT BEFORE TURNING TO FINAL. ACR Y SHOULD HAVE HELD SHORT OF RWY 19 UNTIL I CLRED. I WAS LNDG SO I SHOULD HAVE HAD THE RWY. MY RADIO WAS OPERATIONAL SINCE I TALKED WITH DLG RADIO ABOUT 5 MINS BEFORE MY CALL TURNING TO BASE.
