Narrative:

Crossing restr issued to cross tammy intersection at and maintain 10000 ft MSL. Aircraft crossed tammy intersection at 14000 ft MSL. Severe thunderstorms and turbulence impeded descent. Crew was distraction by WX, poor radio reception. Additionally, mem active runways reversed while WX active. Landing data recomputation and checklist execution all contributed to crew distraction. Belaying checklists would have helped toward relieving immediate cockpit workload. ATC advised of WX problems. No conflicts noted. Supplemental information from acn 410211: given crossing restr of 10000 ft at tammy intersection on marvel 2 arrival mem. Due to cockpit training going on at flight engineer position (IOE), very busy radio traffic, runway change (runways 18 to runways 36) and WX considerations (cumulo nimbus in area) did not meet restr.
