Narrative:

On mar/xa/98, aircraft xyz ground interrupted twice in ZZZ. One time was for placarding the right generator inoperative (authority/authorized #yyyxxx). The other time was because of WX (snow). The aircraft departed ZZZ to YYY at XA28. En route to YYY, 2 messages were sent. 1) left engine idle is low, below limits. 2) right engine idle is low, below limits. Reference messages #yzxab, yzxcd, these were sent at XB40, approximately 1 hour 12 mins into the flight. After arriving at YYY, PIREP #2 read: left and right engine will not maintain minimum ground idle above 50% N2, would not maintain left generator online. In other words, while on the ground at ZZZ, the right generator was inoperative, the left engine could not keep the generator online at idle, so the crew was relying on the APU only for aircraft power. This airplane should not have left ZZZ without these serious problems being addressed.

Title: AN MD SUPER 80 WAS DISPATCHED WITH THE R GENERATOR DEFERRED AS INOP AND THE L ENG IDLE TOO LOW TO MAINTAIN THE GENERATOR ON THE BUS.

Narrative: ON MAR/XA/98, ACFT XYZ GND INTERRUPTED TWICE IN ZZZ. ONE TIME WAS FOR PLACARDING THE R GENERATOR INOP (AUTH #YYYXXX). THE OTHER TIME WAS BECAUSE OF WX (SNOW). THE ACFT DEPARTED ZZZ TO YYY AT XA28. ENRTE TO YYY, 2 MESSAGES WERE SENT. 1) L ENG IDLE IS LOW, BELOW LIMITS. 2) R ENG IDLE IS LOW, BELOW LIMITS. REF MESSAGES #YZXAB, YZXCD, THESE WERE SENT AT XB40, APPROX 1 HR 12 MINS INTO THE FLT. AFTER ARRIVING AT YYY, PIREP #2 READ: L AND R ENG WILL NOT MAINTAIN MINIMUM GND IDLE ABOVE 50% N2, WOULD NOT MAINTAIN L GENERATOR ONLINE. IN OTHER WORDS, WHILE ON THE GND AT ZZZ, THE R GENERATOR WAS INOP, THE L ENG COULD NOT KEEP THE GENERATOR ONLINE AT IDLE, SO THE CREW WAS RELYING ON THE APU ONLY FOR ACFT PWR. THIS AIRPLANE SHOULD NOT HAVE LEFT ZZZ WITHOUT THESE SERIOUS PROBS BEING ADDRESSED.
