Narrative:

During landing flare, wind gust struck aircraft from the east, causing a sharp left bank. Go around was initiated and returned for normal landing. Postflt inspection revealed scrape on lower #1 engine cowl. It appears wind was stronger than reported. When exiting aircraft, windsock was observed to be fully extended and dust was blowing in the air. More accurate wind reports could have improved the situation.
