Narrative:

Maintenance replaced captain's eadi at ZZZ en route to xyz. I realized the turn and slip indicator was not installed for that eadi (copilot's was installed). I didn't think anything about it and wrote it up in the logbook. The next night, the xyz mechanic told me that not having a turn and slip indicator was a 'no-go' item and the company was self-reporting their failure to properly replace the eadi. Apparently the last step in the procedure is to replace the turn and slip indictor and the mechanic missed it.
