Narrative:
After pushback left wing body overheat light illuminated. With mechanic on headset, asked him to open bay door due to excess hot air buildup after on ground for 1 hour and APU running. Mechanic did same and light went out. Upon return aircraft pulled from service because mechanic had broken latch and not informed me.

Title: AN MLG COMMERCIAL FIXED WING ACFT INCURRED DAMAGE TO THE L AIR CONDITIONING BAY DOOR LATCH WHEN OPENED AT THE CAPT'S REQUEST TO VENT THE HOT AIR CAUSING THE L WING BODY OVERHEAT LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE.
Narrative: AFTER PUSHBACK L WING BODY OVERHEAT LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WITH MECH ON HEADSET, ASKED HIM TO OPEN BAY DOOR DUE TO EXCESS HOT AIR BUILDUP AFTER ON GND FOR 1 HR AND APU RUNNING. MECH DID SAME AND LIGHT WENT OUT. UPON RETURN ACFT PULLED FROM SVC BECAUSE MECH HAD BROKEN LATCH AND NOT INFORMED ME.
