Passenger in seat xy was having trouble breathing. The #4 flight attendant paged a physician, we had a doctor in seat yz. He assisted her by using the oxygen and items from the medical kit (blood pressure cuff, stethoscope, nitroglycerin). He wanted a real aspirin for her to chew. A passenger a few rows back had one. Doctor was told he could divert if necessary. As we were over denver, he decided to divert. We landed immediately. The ill passenger was still conscious and was taken off the plane in an aisle chair by paramedics.

Title: AT CRUISE ONBOARD MD80S, PAX BECAME ILL, DOCTOR ONBOARD ASSISTED. ACFT DIVERTED TO ALTERNATE WITHOUT INCIDENT.

Narrative: PAX IN SEAT XY WAS HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING. THE #4 FLT ATTENDANT PAGED A PHYSICIAN, WE HAD A DOCTOR IN SEAT YZ. HE ASSISTED HER BY USING THE OXYGEN AND ITEMS FROM THE MEDICAL KIT (BLOOD PRESSURE CUFF, STETHOSCOPE, NITROGLYCERIN). HE WANTED A REAL ASPIRIN FOR HER TO CHEW. A PAX A FEW ROWS BACK HAD ONE. DOCTOR WAS TOLD HE COULD DIVERT IF NECESSARY. AS WE WERE OVER DENVER, HE DECIDED TO DIVERT. WE LANDED IMMEDIATELY. THE ILL PAX WAS STILL CONSCIOUS AND WAS TAKEN OFF THE PLANE IN AN AISLE CHAIR BY PARAMEDICS.
