Narrative:

Jun/xa/98, about PM46Z en route from peachtree, GA, to willow run, mi. Passing through ZID control, we were cleared to climb and maintain FL390. Upon reaching FL390, we leveled off. A moment later we lost power on the left engine. Unable to maintain FL390 we started our descent, proceeded with airstart procedures and declared to ZID we had a pressurization problem and would like to descend to FL250. ZID cleared us to FL250 and told us to expedite through FL310 for traffic. Upon reaching FL345 we were able to regain full power. We leveled off to check to see if we could maintain full power. As we did this we climbed and maintained FL350. We called traffic in sight. ATC gave us a 40 degree vector to the right and we complied. We maintained FL350 for the duration of the flight, which was uneventful. The traffic we called out was at FL330. It was easier to maintain 2000 ft above the traffic, in this given situation, than to expedite down to FL310 to maintain 2000 ft below.

Title: AN N265 SABRELINER LOSES AN ENG AT FL390, PRESUMABLY A FLAMEOUT. EMER CALLED TO ATC DURING DSCNT WITH A CLRNC TO FL250, EXPEDITE THROUGH FL310. ENG RESTARTED AND ACFT LEVELED AT FL345 AND CLBED TO FL350. ATC GIVES VECTOR FOR TFC SEPARATION.

Narrative: JUN/XA/98, ABOUT PM46Z ENRTE FROM PEACHTREE, GA, TO WILLOW RUN, MI. PASSING THROUGH ZID CTL, WE WERE CLRED TO CLB AND MAINTAIN FL390. UPON REACHING FL390, WE LEVELED OFF. A MOMENT LATER WE LOST PWR ON THE L ENG. UNABLE TO MAINTAIN FL390 WE STARTED OUR DSCNT, PROCEEDED WITH AIRSTART PROCS AND DECLARED TO ZID WE HAD A PRESSURIZATION PROB AND WOULD LIKE TO DSND TO FL250. ZID CLRED US TO FL250 AND TOLD US TO EXPEDITE THROUGH FL310 FOR TFC. UPON REACHING FL345 WE WERE ABLE TO REGAIN FULL PWR. WE LEVELED OFF TO CHK TO SEE IF WE COULD MAINTAIN FULL PWR. AS WE DID THIS WE CLBED AND MAINTAINED FL350. WE CALLED TFC IN SIGHT. ATC GAVE US A 40 DEG VECTOR TO THE R AND WE COMPLIED. WE MAINTAINED FL350 FOR THE DURATION OF THE FLT, WHICH WAS UNEVENTFUL. THE TFC WE CALLED OUT WAS AT FL330. IT WAS EASIER TO MAINTAIN 2000 FT ABOVE THE TFC, IN THIS GIVEN SIT, THAN TO EXPEDITE DOWN TO FL310 TO MAINTAIN 2000 FT BELOW.
