Narrative:

The event occurred while departing runway 1 at ukf. Prior to departure we contacted the unicom frequency for traffic and runway in use advisory. The call back from unicom reported runway 1 in use and no reported traffic. While monitoring unicom, we contacted ZTL for an IFR clearance and release off the field. Upon receiving this, we taxied out and departed off of runway 1. We failed as a crew to announce our intentions on the unicom/CTAF, however no traffic was observed on final or base to runway 1. We made a normal departure off of the runway, with no incident. Our company behind us taxiing out advised us of close proximity to traffic on final to runway 1 as we departed the runway 1.
