Narrative:

Passenger became verbally abusive when asked to see his boarding pass. Later in-flight became verbally and attempted to be physically abusive. Later, had crew members detained and harassed in customs in gig. Passenger obtained copies of flight attendant's passports by airline personnel in rio and by customs agents. Threat was made to flight attendants by passenger. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated this flight was delayed for 2 hours before departure and passenger were complaining that they were not treated well on the ground during the delay. Reporter had asked to have the passenger who became abusive removed before departure because he was verbally abusive when asked to see his boarding pass. The captain went to speak to the passenger, apologized for the delay and determined that the passenger could fly. Reporter asked to be replaced but stated there was a minimum flight attendant crew situation and reporter had to fly the trip. The passenger displayed hostility for the crew members in-flight and threatened to treat the flight attendants at their destination the way the airline had treated him. The passenger phoned an attorney from the aircraft and was able to obtain copies of the passports from the airline personnel at destination of the flight attendants involved in the altercation en route and had them detained by customs officials of the country of arrival. Reporter feared for his personal safety and asked to be positioned back to base immediately and has requested not to fly trips to the country where the incident happened.

Title: ON BOARD B767-200, PAX BECAME ABUSIVE DURING BOARDING AND FLT. THREATENED CREW AFTER ARR IN CUSTOMS. OBTAINED COPIES OF CREW PASSPORTS FROM AIRLINE PERSONNEL UPON ARR AT DEST.

Narrative: PAX BECAME VERBALLY ABUSIVE WHEN ASKED TO SEE HIS BOARDING PASS. LATER INFLT BECAME VERBALLY AND ATTEMPTED TO BE PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE. LATER, HAD CREW MEMBERS DETAINED AND HARASSED IN CUSTOMS IN GIG. PAX OBTAINED COPIES OF FLT ATTENDANT'S PASSPORTS BY AIRLINE PERSONNEL IN RIO AND BY CUSTOMS AGENTS. THREAT WAS MADE TO FLT ATTENDANTS BY PAX. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATED THIS FLT WAS DELAYED FOR 2 HRS BEFORE DEP AND PAX WERE COMPLAINING THAT THEY WERE NOT TREATED WELL ON THE GND DURING THE DELAY. RPTR HAD ASKED TO HAVE THE PAX WHO BECAME ABUSIVE REMOVED BEFORE DEP BECAUSE HE WAS VERBALLY ABUSIVE WHEN ASKED TO SEE HIS BOARDING PASS. THE PAX PHONED AN ATTORNEY FROM THE ACFT AND WAS ABLE TO OBTAIN COPIES OF THE PASSPORTS FROM THE AIRLINE PERSONNEL AT DEST OF THE FLT ATTENDANTS INVOLVED IN THE ALTERCATION ENRTE AND HAD THEM DETAINED BY CUSTOMS OFFICIALS OF THE COUNTRY OF ARR. RPTR FEARED FOR HIS PERSONAL SAFETY AND ASKED TO BE POSITIONED BACK TO BASE IMMEDIATELY AND HAS REQUESTED NOT TO FLY TRIPS TO THE COUNTRY WHERE THE INCIDENT HAPPENED.
