Narrative:

I was executing the published missed approach procedure for the localizer runway 27 approach at afj airport. While switching the navigation selection from the localizer frequency to the heading VOR frequency, I became distraction trying to turn the HSI to the inbound course. I inadvertently overshot the assigned altitude of 3000 ft MSL by approximately 350 ft. I immediately took corrective action and descended back down to 3000 ft. ATC did not inform me of any violation, nor was there any discrepancy on the part of the controller.
