Narrative:

Aircraft was scheduled from wilmington, nc, to bermuda. After takeoff from wilmington, we found the aircraft was not equipped with a HF radio. Since we are an air ambulance and the patient was waiting in bermuda, the captain elected to request clearance to bermuda with no HF radio. ZNY approved clearance. No problems were encountered and position reports were relayed over VHF. Dispatch needs to be aware of aircraft equipment and requirements. The crew needs to be more thorough in checking route equipment requirements and aircraft equipment.
