Installed approved temporary line on #1 engine thrust reverser system without knowledge that this procedure is disallowed. To prevent a recurrence or correct the situation air carrier should issue a bulletin addressing this repair as being disallowed.

Title: AN MD88 WAS DISPATCHED WITH AN UNAPPROVED INTERIM REPAIR TO THE #1 ENG THRUST REVERSER.
Narrative: INSTALLED APPROVED TEMPORARY LINE ON #1 ENG THRUST REVERSER SYS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE THAT THIS PROC IS DISALLOWED. TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE OR CORRECT THE SIT ACR SHOULD ISSUE A BULLETIN ADDRESSING THIS REPAIR AS BEING DISALLOWED.
