Narrative:

Covering for another aircraft pilot. Was called at home to fly to outstation as soon as possible. Upon being loaded, operations came out with excessive freight and had to coordinate upon 'bumping' freight. Upon late departure, climbed through 12000 ft assigned altitude. Upon noticing deviation, ZOB allowed climb to 13000 ft. Controller was helpful. Abnormality -- usually aircraft have GPS with altitude warning incorporated, but this one did not have GPS.
