Narrative:

While level at FL280 I received ATIS for cvg. After entering the landing runway into the FMS, the FMS automatically loaded the STAR into the route. I verified the route and executed the modification. About 5 mins later we got an electrical surge in the avionics system and all the tubes (6 EFIS tubes) blinked off then back on. A few mins later we arrived at bellaire VOR and the aircraft turned to the next fix which was tigrr. The correct fix should have been bowrr then orlee and hedee. It seems that during the electrical surge 3 waypoints were dropped from the FMS. About 20 mi after passing bellaire ATC notified us of our deviation and cleared us to hedee where we continued the flight.
