Narrative:

With the captain out of seat near FL300 for a leveloff at FL310, I was selecting the wind page on the performance data computer, pdcs, on the center pedestal. We were climbing approximately 300 FPM. After selecting cruise mode after climb mode, then paging to the wing page of the pdcs, I inserted the winds. I did not re-scan my altimeter often enough and climbed through assigned altitude. ZMA asked me our assigned altitude. I responded FL310 as I was passing FL317. I immediately corrected smoothly to assigned altitude. No other aircraft were within 30 NM on the TCASII.
