Narrative:

I was cfii instructing a student on an IFR cross country on an IFR flight plan. Requested NDB approach at cll to a low approach to vectors to ILS for a full stop. ZHU assigned missed approach instructions after the NDB approach. Tower confirmed missed instructions. On climb out to 3000 ft on the missed a low wing aircraft was observed in level flight on the same heading less than 300 ft directly above us. I took the aircraft and discontinued our assigned climb to prevent striking the other aircraft. Tower had just switched us to center and I questioned them about the other aircraft. ZHU advised they did not show the other aircraft on radar and to take whatever measures needed to maintain visual. The closure occurred in the blind spot of the low wing (upper aircraft) and the blind spot 6 O'clock high for the high wing (lower aircraft). I believe the other aircraft had just departed cll VFR. I believe the lack of approach radar at cll was a contributing factor.

Title: SMA ACFT ON TRAINING FLT AND MISSED APCH AFTER A PRACTICE NDB APCH HAD TO LEVEL AND TURN TO AVOID AN ACFT DIRECTLY IN FRONT AND ABOVE.

Narrative: I WAS CFII INSTRUCTING A STUDENT ON AN IFR XCOUNTRY ON AN IFR FLT PLAN. REQUESTED NDB APCH AT CLL TO A LOW APCH TO VECTORS TO ILS FOR A FULL STOP. ZHU ASSIGNED MISSED APCH INSTRUCTIONS AFTER THE NDB APCH. TWR CONFIRMED MISSED INSTRUCTIONS. ON CLBOUT TO 3000 FT ON THE MISSED A LOW WING ACFT WAS OBSERVED IN LEVEL FLT ON THE SAME HDG LESS THAN 300 FT DIRECTLY ABOVE US. I TOOK THE ACFT AND DISCONTINUED OUR ASSIGNED CLB TO PREVENT STRIKING THE OTHER ACFT. TWR HAD JUST SWITCHED US TO CTR AND I QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT THE OTHER ACFT. ZHU ADVISED THEY DID NOT SHOW THE OTHER ACFT ON RADAR AND TO TAKE WHATEVER MEASURES NEEDED TO MAINTAIN VISUAL. THE CLOSURE OCCURRED IN THE BLIND SPOT OF THE LOW WING (UPPER ACFT) AND THE BLIND SPOT 6 O'CLOCK HIGH FOR THE HIGH WING (LOWER ACFT). I BELIEVE THE OTHER ACFT HAD JUST DEPARTED CLL VFR. I BELIEVE THE LACK OF APCH RADAR AT CLL WAS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR.
