Narrative:
Cleared from fwt to 3000 ft expect 5000 ft in 10 mins. Cleared by departure from 3000 ft apparently to 4000 ft. I thought it was 5000 ft. Controller asked me to confirm I was level at 4000 ft. I responded that I was at 4500 ft. I descended immediately to 4000 ft. I had intersecting traffic, an MD80, at 5000 ft but that was a few mins later. Listen up!

Narrative: CLRED FROM FWT TO 3000 FT EXPECT 5000 FT IN 10 MINS. CLRED BY DEP FROM 3000 FT APPARENTLY TO 4000 FT. I THOUGHT IT WAS 5000 FT. CTLR ASKED ME TO CONFIRM I WAS LEVEL AT 4000 FT. I RESPONDED THAT I WAS AT 4500 FT. I DSNDED IMMEDIATELY TO 4000 FT. I HAD INTERSECTING TFC, AN MD80, AT 5000 FT BUT THAT WAS A FEW MINS LATER. LISTEN UP!
