Narrative:

Turn around area of runway 36 very slippery. Used reverse on 1 engine and thrust on other engine to initiate a turn. Brakes and nosewheel steering gave no response. Runway braking action reported as good. Reported our finding to tower and airport, sand applied after our departure.

Title: B737 PIC USES DIFFERENTIAL THRUST, INCLUDING REVERSE THRUST, TO INITIATE A TURN ON THE RWY AT KODIAK, AK. THE BRAKES AND NOSEWHEEL STEERING WERE INEFFECTIVE ON THE ICE COVERED RWY. THE BRAKING ACTION HAD BEEN ERRONEOUSLY RPTED AS 'GOOD.'
