Narrative:

Cruising at FL330, ZMP told us to descend for traffic to FL290. The captain and I both heard our call sign clearly, and the captain acknowledged with our call sign and a readback of the descent instructions. No other aircraft was heard on the frequency. I started the descent from FL330 to FL290. Passing FL310, the ZMP controller said we should climb back to FL330, because the descent was for aircraft Y. I stopped the descent and climbed back to FL330. When asked if the descent created a problem, the controller said no. The flight continued uneventfully. As for the miscom, the captain and I are confident that we heard the controller correctly when he issued the descent instructions.
