Narrative:

XA20Z, 125.0, 6000 ft, ord departure control. Departing ord, frequency change from tower to departure control. New clearance received from 5000 ft heading 110 degrees to new clearance to 6000 ft, heading 360 degrees. Established on heading and altitude, departure control queried our heading saying we weren't cleared to a new heading. Controller then said to remain on 360 degree heading. No traffic conflict, no problem.
