Narrative:

While being ground handled at night with lights and several wing walkers and observers, ground handler turned us very sharply and our tail (rudder) hit the wingtip of a parked B747. Main ground handler lost sight of his wing walkers and observers as he was moving to stay in front of us. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter said the guide man was out of sight of the wing walkers during the turning movement.

Title: A DC9-10 WHILE TAXIING USING A GUIDE MAN AND WING WALKERS STRUCK A PARKED B747 WINGTIP INCURRING DAMAGE TO THE RUDDER.

Narrative: WHILE BEING GND HANDLED AT NIGHT WITH LIGHTS AND SEVERAL WING WALKERS AND OBSERVERS, GND HANDLER TURNED US VERY SHARPLY AND OUR TAIL (RUDDER) HIT THE WINGTIP OF A PARKED B747. MAIN GND HANDLER LOST SIGHT OF HIS WING WALKERS AND OBSERVERS AS HE WAS MOVING TO STAY IN FRONT OF US. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR SAID THE GUIDE MAN WAS OUT OF SIGHT OF THE WING WALKERS DURING THE TURNING MOVEMENT.
