Narrative:

Was informed by monterey approach that I had followed a vector for another aircraft. I do not believe that was so. No similar call sign on frequency. Read back vector when assigned heading change. More senior pilot in right seat also heard ATC assign new heading. Only possible confusion was whether ATC assigned vector followed by, 'expect vectors to...' or 'vectors to...' in any case, no hazard and easy resolution. I believe ATC used my call by mistake. In any case would love to hear the tape.
