Narrative:

Flight was proceeding from alb-cle at FL180. We were last assigned to ZNY. We were on this particular frequency for longer than normal, when I addressed ZNY. They had no information on us and subsequently gave us a frequency for ZOB. As a result, we were not in contact with ATC for an undetermined period of time. For some reason, new york never handed us off to cleveland at the appropriate location and cleveland couldn't seem to find us.

Narrative: FLT WAS PROCEEDING FROM ALB-CLE AT FL180. WE WERE LAST ASSIGNED TO ZNY. WE WERE ON THIS PARTICULAR FREQ FOR LONGER THAN NORMAL, WHEN I ADDRESSED ZNY. THEY HAD NO INFO ON US AND SUBSEQUENTLY GAVE US A FREQ FOR ZOB. AS A RESULT, WE WERE NOT IN CONTACT WITH ATC FOR AN UNDETERMINED PERIOD OF TIME. FOR SOME REASON, NEW YORK NEVER HANDED US OFF TO CLEVELAND AT THE APPROPRIATE LOCATION AND CLEVELAND COULDN'T SEEM TO FIND US.
