Narrative:
Step climbing and cleared to FL330 from previously assigned FL280. We were passing through FL266 and given a frequency change to ZDC on 134.62. New controller didn't expect us or have us idented. Reported squawk and location (mol). ZDC told us to level at FL260. We stopped climb at FL266 and returned to FL260 (acknowledged FL260 and told controller we were returning to FL260). VFR conditions and traffic in sight -- no conflicts.

Narrative: STEP CLBING AND CLRED TO FL330 FROM PREVIOUSLY ASSIGNED FL280. WE WERE PASSING THROUGH FL266 AND GIVEN A FREQ CHANGE TO ZDC ON 134.62. NEW CTLR DIDN'T EXPECT US OR HAVE US IDENTED. RPTED SQUAWK AND LOCATION (MOL). ZDC TOLD US TO LEVEL AT FL260. WE STOPPED CLB AT FL266 AND RETURNED TO FL260 (ACKNOWLEDGED FL260 AND TOLD CTLR WE WERE RETURNING TO FL260). VFR CONDITIONS AND TFC IN SIGHT -- NO CONFLICTS.
