Narrative:

St paul tower called and asked my location. I replied 7.7 mi southwest and they then told me to 'identify' and I knew something was wrong. At that time I was told to contact msp approach. I knew that I had done something wrong and that I must be too far west and had entered msp TCA. After I contacted msp approach, they had me climb to 2500 ft and assume a heading of 110 degrees. They then handed me off to st paul tower. After landing I was advised to contact the shift supervisor at msp approach, which I did immediately. I spoke with the shift supervisor. I told him I knew I had erred and gave him my name, address and phone number as well as that of my supervisor. He advised I would have to contact 'flight standards' the next day.
