Narrative:
FAA inspector wanted to situation in jump seat. Oxygen mask microphone inoperative (jump seat considered unusable). I pointed this out to the captain and FAA. The FAA guy said he really wanted to check out the operation. The captain let him. This is a very uncomfortable situation for all. I was afraid if I raised too much more of a fuss I'd get myself in trouble.

Title: AN ACR MLG FLC RPTS THAT AN FAA ACR INSPECTOR RODE IN THEIR JUMP SEAT WITH A KNOWN INOP OXYGEN MASK MIKE. FOR OPERATIONAL PURPOSES THE MASK WAS CONSIDERED UNUSABLE. HOWEVER, THE INSPECTOR AND THE CAPT AGREED THAT IT WAS PERMISSIBLE TO DISREGARD THE MASK PROB.

THE FAA GUY SAID HE REALLY WANTED TO CHK OUT THE OP. THE CAPT LET HIM. THIS IS A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE SIT FOR ALL. I WAS AFRAID IF I RAISED TOO MUCH MORE OF A FUSS I'D GET MYSELF IN TROUBLE.
