Narrative:
#2 engine oil low pressure light came on. Oil pressure dropped below red line (to 20). Oil quantity dropped to zero. I followed the checklist and shut down the engine. I notified center and requested return to denver. I advised that I had shut down an engine and asked that the fire trucks stand by. I gave fuel on board (12000 pounds) and gave number of passenger (77) and crew (5). I realize now that I did not say the word 'emergency' but I did ask for the fire trucks. When approach control turned me on final I was closer to the aircraft ahead of me than I liked. Tower said he was 3 mi ahead. I asked to be put on another runway, but tower said to continue and had the other aircraft make a go around. Landing was uneventful. I taxied to the gate on 1 engine. Everything went smoothly except I didn't use the word 'emergency' and the aircraft ahead of me for landing was asked by tower to make a go around to provide me more spacing.
