Narrative:

Air carrier DC9 on ILS approach talking to tower. N265 departing a satellite airport, released by me on heading 020 degrees, off of runway 17R. It was a loss of horizontal separation, totally my fault. I released the N265 on a non standard heading, trying to do him a favor. The aircraft made a wider left turn than I anticipated and ended up less than 3 mi next to the DC9 on ILS approach, on tower frequency.
