Narrative:

Time XA15Z, frequency 126.35, 14000 ft. ATC facility: ZLA. Location: bands intersection. Clearance to cross bands intersection at 14000 ft was issued late. Approaching bands and 14000 ft, aircraft started to level off. It appeared that we were not going to make bands intersection at 14000 ft, so after altitude capture mode, I moved the altitude alert to a lower altitude and used vertical speed. Aircraft dropped to 13780 ft before returning to 14000 ft. No further incident.
