Narrative:

There was a temporary control tower at ajo by NOTAM for a special event. I was VFR from L18 and began position reports on CTAF (122.8) 7 mi south of ajo. An aircraft in the area and on frequency announced that the temporary tower was closed at XA00. I continued position reports in the standard pattern for ajo runway 25, left traffic. There were no other aircraft visible in the pattern or on frequency. On landing rollout, I saw a small platform north of runway 25 with 2 persons, 1 waving at me and 1 with binoculars. I taxied to fuel, and the operator said he thought the temporary tower closed at XB00. On departure, I contacted tower on 126.4, was cleared for takeoff. The controller made a comment about the NOTAM, and that was all. I would like to suggest that temporary control towers should monitor and inform on the local CTAF -- if tower had advised me on 122.8 to go to 126.6, there would have been no problem at all.
