Narrative:

During a normal simulated engine failure with an approach to landing in an open field, engine failed to respond at power up. At landing, left wing struck a small fence post putting a dent in the leading edge. At the point where the aircraft landed, with the throttle full open the engine then began to run fairly normal. I took off and gained altitude flying to sff where I requested priority handling for a low approach for a visual inspection of the landing gear.
