Narrative:

ATIS frequency (124.6) for port columbus international airport conflicts with a ground control frequency of an airport to the west (kalamazoo?). Columbus ground controllers report that this has been 'studied' for yrs. When will the conflict be resolved? Callback conversation with the facility revealed the following information: airways facility personnel checked and increased the transmitting power of the ATIS after the intensity level was found to be low, only 1 air carrier has complained about the interference and only with A320 aircraft, the person providing the information stated he witnessed the problem while on a fam flight in an A320, also was informed that other aircraft at the same altitude as the A320 reported no interference with the ATIS broadcast, flight checks of ATIS revealed no interference.
