Narrative:

Center advised turn right vectors for sequence (arrival into dfw). Center then advised slow to 180 KIAS or 190 KIAS. Stated we could get direct to byp (cornerpost) quicker if we slowed airspeed. When center cleared direct byp, both pilots assumed speed restr was deleted. We increased airspeed to 240 KIAS. ATC advised speed restr was still in effect.

Title: AN EMB120 FLIES FASTER THAN ASSIGNED DURING ARR INTO DFW. OCCURRED IN ZFW AIRSPACE.

Narrative: CTR ADVISED TURN R VECTORS FOR SEQUENCE (ARR INTO DFW). CTR THEN ADVISED SLOW TO 180 KIAS OR 190 KIAS. STATED WE COULD GET DIRECT TO BYP (CORNERPOST) QUICKER IF WE SLOWED AIRSPD. WHEN CTR CLRED DIRECT BYP, BOTH PLTS ASSUMED SPD RESTR WAS DELETED. WE INCREASED AIRSPD TO 240 KIAS. ATC ADVISED SPD RESTR WAS STILL IN EFFECT.
