Narrative:

I taxied into gate at dtw with idle power, both engines running and never having to come to a full stop. After stopping at the gate, agent notified me that our air carrier control tower would like to speak to me. They said I blew a cart into a DC9 parked at gate. I observed the damage of DC9 right flap from baggage cart. I notified chief pilot's office and filed an ASR (aviation safety report). I believe that the power of the B757 will blow over any baggage cart parked at that position and that congestion of the ramp is the problem. The corrective action is to remove carts from those position or tow in aircraft to those opposite gates with empty/unattached baggage carts left.
