Narrative:

On taxi out from sbn we were advised by ground control that someone had observed our aircraft and that the rear cargo door appeared to be open. Ground control then advised from their position, what they could see, confirmed that the door was open. The cockpit warning light indicated that the door was closed. Apparently the door had been left open and the indicator light had failed. We returned to the gate. Maintenance performed a check on the door. MEL'ed the warning light and we were able to continue the flight.
