Narrative:
I was not handling controls but was sitting in copilot (right) seat. Pilot flared high (about 10 ft). I told him so and he corrected to flare at about 3-4 ft. Aircraft bounced on landing (1 bounce). Landed nose high. Pilot lost direction control on roll after bounce and rolled off runway and hit runway light. Very minor skin damage only. I kicked right rudder but too late to keep aircraft from hitting runway lights. Contributing factors: 1) taxi light good and turned on, landing light inoperative. Runway lights old low power military style with several of them inoperative, giving large stretches of runway with no left/right reference.

Title: SMA ACFT IN A NIGHT OP IS FLARED HIGH. PLT LOSES CTL AFTER A GOOD BOUNCE AND VEERS OFF RWY. ACFT DAMAGED AFTER COMING IN CONTACT WITH AN UNLIT RWY LIGHT. OBS RPTR CITES SEVERAL RWY LIGHT OUTAGES AS CONTRIBUTORY.
Narrative: I WAS NOT HANDLING CTLS BUT WAS SITTING IN COPLT (R) SEAT. PLT FLARED HIGH (ABOUT 10 FT). I TOLD HIM SO AND HE CORRECTED TO FLARE AT ABOUT 3-4 FT. ACFT BOUNCED ON LNDG (1 BOUNCE). LANDED NOSE HIGH. PLT LOST DIRECTION CTL ON ROLL AFTER BOUNCE AND ROLLED OFF RWY AND HIT RWY LIGHT. VERY MINOR SKIN DAMAGE ONLY. I KICKED R RUDDER BUT TOO LATE TO KEEP ACFT FROM HITTING RWY LIGHTS. CONTRIBUTING FACTORS: 1) TAXI LIGHT GOOD AND TURNED ON, LNDG LIGHT INOP. RWY LIGHTS OLD LOW PWR MIL STYLE WITH SEVERAL OF THEM INOP, GIVING LARGE STRETCHES OF RWY WITH NO L/R REFERENCE.
