Narrative:

I left gulfport, ms, VFR to dauphin island, al. VFR conditions. Upon arrival at 4r9, I checked wind to land on runway 30. When we landed, the plane came up off runway. Upon setting back down, the plane traveled down runway. When the plane slowed it took a hard left turn off runway, collapsing the nosegear. Upon inspection, the nosegear was found jammed and turned to the left. This accounts for the turn to the left. I have researched this and found the following information. I have about 55 lndgs and 25 hours in this plane. I have never experienced anything like this before. From graphic: 'the sundowner, and especially the sport, can be downright vicious on landing. These airplanes have developed a reputation for providing some truly ego-crushing lndgs for even experienced pilots. Student pilots who were unfortunate enough to endure training in the sport all too often wound up with more than their egos crushed.'

Title: PLT OF SMA BOUNCES ON LNDG, THEN AS ACFT SLOWS, IT TAKES A HARD L TURN OFF THE RWY. THE NOSEGEAR COLLAPSES. THIS APPEARS TO BE A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE ACFT TYPE AND REQUIRES TRAINING FOR SMOOTH LNDGS.

Narrative: I LEFT GULFPORT, MS, VFR TO DAUPHIN ISLAND, AL. VFR CONDITIONS. UPON ARR AT 4R9, I CHKED WIND TO LAND ON RWY 30. WHEN WE LANDED, THE PLANE CAME UP OFF RWY. UPON SETTING BACK DOWN, THE PLANE TRAVELED DOWN RWY. WHEN THE PLANE SLOWED IT TOOK A HARD L TURN OFF RWY, COLLAPSING THE NOSEGEAR. UPON INSPECTION, THE NOSEGEAR WAS FOUND JAMMED AND TURNED TO THE L. THIS ACCOUNTS FOR THE TURN TO THE L. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND FOUND THE FOLLOWING INFO. I HAVE ABOUT 55 LNDGS AND 25 HRS IN THIS PLANE. I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE. FROM GRAPHIC: 'THE SUNDOWNER, AND ESPECIALLY THE SPORT, CAN BE DOWNRIGHT VICIOUS ON LNDG. THESE AIRPLANES HAVE DEVELOPED A REPUTATION FOR PROVIDING SOME TRULY EGO-CRUSHING LNDGS FOR EVEN EXPERIENCED PLTS. STUDENT PLTS WHO WERE UNFORTUNATE ENOUGH TO ENDURE TRAINING IN THE SPORT ALL TOO OFTEN WOUND UP WITH MORE THAN THEIR EGOS CRUSHED.'
