Narrative:
Over a period of several yrs, while working at current modification/maintenance facility, shadin fuel flow indicating system (micro-flo model) were installed which were assumed to be approved under the stc for the shadin mini-flo model. It has just come to our attention that they are not approved, but require a field approval. Some of these may have been signed off by myself. In the future, field approval will be obtained. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states the fuel flow system was installed on various aircraft.

Title: A MODIFICATION MAINT FACILITY INSTALLED FUEL FLOW INDICATION SYS THAT WERE NOT APPROVED UNDER THE SUPPLEMENTAL TYPE CERTIFICATE. NEEDED FIELD APPROVAL. DID NOT HAVE FIELD APPROVAL.
Narrative: OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL YRS, WHILE WORKING AT CURRENT MODIFICATION/MAINT FACILITY, SHADIN FUEL FLOW INDICATING SYS (MICRO-FLO MODEL) WERE INSTALLED WHICH WERE ASSUMED TO BE APPROVED UNDER THE STC FOR THE SHADIN MINI-FLO MODEL. IT HAS JUST COME TO OUR ATTN THAT THEY ARE NOT APPROVED, BUT REQUIRE A FIELD APPROVAL. SOME OF THESE MAY HAVE BEEN SIGNED OFF BY MYSELF. IN THE FUTURE, FIELD APPROVAL WILL BE OBTAINED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THE FUEL FLOW SYS WAS INSTALLED ON VARIOUS ACFT.
