Narrative:

I was working the radar position at a 'test' sector. Traffic was busier than normal due to a scope failure and I was working 2 sectors. A non control person (flight data) removed the flight on an aircraft under my control. The data block was dropped from my scope along with any flight plan information. After the flight plan information was removed, the aircraft continued from my congested airspace into ZOB's less congested airspace before being detected and re-idented. The flight data position removed the wrong flight plan with a simple enter button with no checks or verifications.
